I Love the smell of Fresh Bread ........

This is the loaf I have made this morning and the house smells so good :)

Heat Over  Gas Mark 7   220 degrees C  425 degrees F

For the yeast liquid
1 teaspoon sugar (5ml)
3/4 pint of warm water (375ml)
2 teaspoons dried yeast (2 x 5ml)

For the dough
1 1/2 lb strong bread flour  (600g)
2 teaspoons salt (2 x 5ml)
1.2 oz margarine (15g)

Dissolve the sugar in the warm water and sprinkle over the dried yeast.  Leave for 10 minutes

Sieve the flour into a bowl. Add the salt and then rub in the margarine.

Add the yeast mixture to the flour and work until a firm dough.

Place on a board and knead for about 10 minutes.

Leave to prove until the dough has proved.  I made my loaf in a round cake tin as thought would be fun.   Worked really well.

Bake in the oven for about 40 minutes.
